No. They get a link, open it in whatever browser they are already using and accept the call. There is no account to create.
Does it work inside WeChat and WhatsApp?
Yes. The link opens in the browser built into those apps, without leaving the thread.
How many languages does it understand?
Sixty. Translation works between any pair of them, and you pick your language and the other person's before you send the link.
Who chooses the languages?
Whoever starts the call picks both before sending the link, and the other person sets up nothing. During the call, either side can change their own language without hanging up.
How many people fit in one call?
Up to four participants.
Does the caption show up for every side?
Yes. Each participant sees the caption in the language they chose to read.
What happens when the call ends?
Everyone keeps the text of what was said and a summary of the meeting, with a button to copy it.
Do I need a fast computer?
No. If the device opens a page with video, it makes the call. It works on phones, tablets and computers.
What if the connection is bad?
The call lowers video quality to protect the audio and the caption, which are what the conversation runs on.
Do you store the audio of my conversation?
No. Audio and video go straight from one browser to the other and never pass through our servers. What can be stored, if your plan keeps history, is the text of the conversation, and there is a switch to turn that off.
